Kendriya Vidyalaya IIT Patna, Patna

GENESIS

Kendriya Vidyalaya IIT Patna was established with the vision of providing quality, holistic and value-based education to children in the vicinity of IIT Patna. The Vidyalaya started functioning in the academic session 2020–21, initially with Classes I to V in a temporary building.Since its inception, the Vidyalaya has witnessed remarkable growth, both academically and infrastructurally. With the passage of time, new classes were added progressively, transforming the Vidyalaya from a primary school into a Senior Secondary School offering education from Class I to Class XII. A significant milestone in the journey of the Vidyalaya was its shift to its own newly constructed school building in 2023, provided by the sponsoring agency. The new campus has provided a better and more conducive environment for teaching, learning and the overall development of students. In the academic session 2026–27, the Vidyalaya has further expanded its educational journey with the introduction of Balvatika-III, strengthening the foundation-stage education in accordance with the changing educational needs. The school website also records admissions for Balvatika-III and Class I for the 2026–27 session.Kendriya Vidyalaya IIT Patna has grown from its humble beginning with Classes I–V to a full-fledged Senior Secondary Vidyalaya from Balvatika-III to Class XII. At the Senior Secondary level, the Vidyalaya offers the Science stream in Classes XI and XII, providing students with opportunities to pursue higher studies in science and technology-related fields.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, since its inception, has been functioning with this perspective as its guiding principle for imparting a wholesome education to the child and has made its mark as one of the leading brands in school education. The K.V. teachers who are assigned this task have been adequately oriented about the broader purpose of pedagogy. Education is the backbone of a nation. Proper education can contribute to the creation of healthy minds and worthy citizens. If we want to survive and progress in this new world order, we have to enrich ourselves with adequate knowledge and skills. In India, we face a major challenge of preparing young minds for facing the challenges of the 21st Century and the best way to tide over this obstacle is by providing quality education to all. Kanchan Kumari, TGT English, KV IIT Patna has made significant contributions to education, notably through the acceptance of her e-content on “The Ball Poem” for Class 10, following a thorough review by CBSE as part of the Vidya Daan 2.0 initiative aimed at enhancing teacher and student engagement.In her first year at KVS, during the 2019-2020 session at KV Murgabadi, she achieved the remarkable distinction of producing the second highest performance indicator (PI) of 81.44 in the AISSE Class X results within the Bhubaneswar region.
